چکیده

During its operation, electrical equipment is constantly exposed to overvoltages of various waveforms, such as lightning discharges, switching operations, faults, etc. Therefore, adequate selection overvoltage protection and insulation withstand voltages are key factors in increasing system reliability. In general, coordination carried out by analyzing the behavior for standard impulse waveforms. However, that occur operating conditions can significantly deviate from waveforms voltages, terms front time, duration wave, existence highfrequency components result reflections facility other factors. This paper presents possible methods assessing real voltage waves which during exploitation analysis frequency domain. As there different signal at frequencies, a energy, main goal this analyze characteristics specific transformer point view energy spectral density wave occurs terminals when an atmospheric discharge occurs. The based on determination safety margin entire spectrum is, calculation so-called FDSF (Frequency Domain Severity Factor). results show although amplitude lower than with appropriate (the condition classic approach satisfied), domain shows may still be compromised.
